Jason has been a certified personal trainer for 17 years, spending 8 years of his career in New York City as a personal trainer. Upon returning to Ireland he worked at an exclusive personal training studio as head trainer/manager and formed Aorta Fitness in 2010. As a competitive endurance athlete Jason has competed in dozens of triathlons and marathons including 11 full Ironman Triathlons.

Jason holds several other qualifications that he integrates into his personal training programmes which include:

• National Qualification in Neuro Muscular Physical Therapy (NMT) that qualifies him to use soft tissue manipulative techniques which include Soft Tissue Release (STR); Muscle Energy Technique (MET); Pre, Inter and Post event sports massage; Mobilisation techniques; Mechanotherapy; Cryotherapy and Trigger Point Work.
• National Qualification in Orthopaedic Sports and Remedial Therapy
• Advanced Emergency Care in Sports (AECS), First Aid and AED
• Pre & Post Natal fitness training

Dean Monks-Pettigrew
Personal Trainer

Dean has been a trainer at Aorta Fitness since 2012. He has studied in various colleges including DCU where he qualified in Personal Training, Group Training, Circuit Training, Strength & Conditioning, Exercise & Fitness, Spinning, T.R.X, Flexibility & Mobility, Fitness Instruction, Sports Nutrition, First Aid and Kettle Bell Training. Before starting at Aorta, Dean worked as a freelance Personal Trainer in Ireland and America. Prior to this he earned a scholarship to the US to play soccer. Dean teaches one to one and small group training sessions. He specialises in weight loss and strength & conditioning training.
